Dr. Lon's journey into the world of science began in his childhood, sparked by a chemistry set that ignited his curiosity. Growing up in a small town in Oklahoma, he dedicated countless hours to experimenting with chemical concoctions in his family's cellar. After high school, he joined the Navy's demanding nuclear power program, later serving aboard the nuclear aircraft carriers, USS Enterprise and USS Nimitz. After the Navy his academic pursuits led him to earn undergraduate and graduate degrees in technical education with a focus on electrical engineering, followed by a doctorate in adult education. At Texas State Technical Institute, he shared his expertise as an electronics professor and directed three technology programs: laser electro-optics, nuclear technology and electronics technology. Later, in the corporate world, he held positions as an engineer, a technical manager and association director, after which he. founded a consulting business. And along the way he wrote four books and numerous articles. Today, Dr. Lon enjoys sharing his love of science with people of all ages. And when he's not doing shows or devising new demonstrations for his shows, he enjoys traveling the globe and writing poetry and fictional short stories.
